Description: Phil B: Almost didn’t happen after promoter Brett Beetroot got cold feet on the day, and so it ended up that Papa Smurf Jason, Karen and the Smurf Village crew banded together to make it happen. A little disjointed in the end, however great to be out and about with good friends away from the city. I remember the stage was set up in a position as so when the sun came up, it was directly behind the DJ. Brett Beetroot had timed it perfectly so his set would start the minute the sun came over the horizon. I remember thinking to myself, that’s cool and that’s why it was called sunrise. Good tunes, but a little sloppy from memory. The 2 Am surprise was the port-a-loos turning up and reversing through the middle of the dance floor.
