Description: Catchphrase – sound manipulators. RP: Vortex was a cracking party, held in a modern but nondescript white warehouse somewhere along Botany Rd. The things I remember were the two huge (2 stories tall – 80Kw apparently) speakers flanking the ground level DJ stand, the technofear lasers cutting through copious dry ice smoke for hours, and the extended version of Apotheosis' ’O Fortuna’ that seemed to be the tune of the night. The cops came and shut the party down at exactly 6am (not sure of the logic of that), which forced us to the Ravers Playground recovery at Graffiti Hall of Fame, where one of my mates managed to break the gyroscope they had set up!
